Basic information concerning the rules of the contest 

The contest for additional vacancies in the recruitment for Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences in the discipline: Chemical Sciences is connected with the fulfilment of implementation doctorates in the scope of the following subjects, carried out jointly with the following companies:

1.  „Opracowanie nowych złóż osłonowych adsorbujących węglowodory zawierające azot z frakcji benzen-toluen w Węźle Usuwania Azotu będących trucizną katalizatora stosowanego w procesach otrzymywania paraksylenu” we współpracy z Polskim Koncernem Naftowym ORLEN Spółka Akcyjna; 09-411 Płock; ul. Chemików 7.
2. „Zastosowanie funkcjonalizowanych matryc polimerowych i nanomateriałów jako nośników do kontrolowanego uwalniania substancji biobójczych i maskujących odory w preparatach toaletowych” we współpracy z firmą Aleco Alicja Zawada-Głodowska, ul Rydygiera 8, 01-793 Warszawa.
3. „Opracowanie metodyki badań analitycznych, przeznaczonych do kontroli procesu syntezy i analiz zwolnieniowych substancji czynnej oraz badanego produktu leczniczego, niezawierającego chromoforów”  we współpracy z firmą OncoArendi Therapeutics SA. ul. Żwirki i Wigury 101, 02-089 Warszawa
4. „Optymalizacja elektroosadzania elektrycznych mikrokontaktów miedzianych wytwarzaniu zintegrowanych wielowarstwowych obwodów elektrycznych (obwodów drukowanych)” we współpracy z firmą PITRADWAR S.A, ul. Poligonowa 30, 04-051 Warszawa.
5. "Opracowanie technologii produkcji izotopu 68Ga  z wykorzystaniem tarczy ciała stałego w cyklotronie medycznym", we współpracy z firmą VOXEL S.A., ul. Wielicka 265, 30-663 Kraków.
6. "Opracowanie technologii produkcji preparatów 68Ga-PSMA i 68Ga-DOTATOC z wykorzystaniem tarczy ciała stałego w cyklotronie medycznym", we cwspółpracy z firmą VOXEL S.A., ul. Wielicka 265, 30-663 Kraków.
7. "Synteza radiofarmacetyków na bazie izotopu 18F otrzymywanych w cyklotronie medycznym  – optymalizacja czystości radiochemicznej przy użyciu kolumn SPE i dostosowanie procesów wytwórczych do wymogów Prawa Farmaceutycznego", we współpracy z firmą VOXEL S.A., ul. Wielicka 265, 30-663 Kraków.

Rules concerning candidates

The conditions of participating in the contest are as follows:

• The candidate must be employed in the company indicated as a partner of the subject mentioned in point named Basic information concerning the rules of the contest in full-time,
• The consent of the company for the education of the candidate in the doctoral school under the “Implementation doctorate I” programme,
• The company provides a subsidiary supervisor that is an employee of that company.

The subsidiary supervisor can be a person who possesses:

• A degree of doktor or
• At least five year experience in conducting scientific activity or
• Significant achievements in developing and implementing in the economic or social area an original design, construction, technological or artistic project of supralocal scope and lasting and universal nature.

The rules (including the qualifications of the subsidiary supervisor) which were mentioned above should be confirmed by proper documentation and/or a statement concerning the candidate for the subsidiary supervisor. 

Recruitment

Schedule of the Doctoral School additional enrolment procedure

• registration in IRK: from 29 August 2019 to 11 September 2019;
• acceptance of documents: from 29 August 2019 to 11 September 2019;
• selection procedure: from 12 September 2019 to 15 September 2019;
• publication of the ranking list: 17 September 2019;
• publication of the list of persons admitted to the Doctoral School: 18 September 2019

Form of the recruitment procedure

1. The evaluation of the completeness and formal compliance of the submitted documents
2. The evaluation of the research project, especially its connection to the subject of the implementation doctorate
3. Evaluation of the experience necessary to fulfil the implementation doctorate
4. An interview.

Language of the recruitment procedure, including interviews/examinations

Polish or English as chosen by the candidate. If the Polish language is chosen, the selection procedure shall include a part conducted in English.

Required documents

1. the application generated in IRK, stating the subject-matter of the application, including the chosen discipline in which the candidate plans to pursue education, PESEL [Personal Identification Number] or passport number, nationality, contact details (address, e-mail address, telephone number), information whether the candidate gives their consent to receive administrative decisions by electronic means and signature;
2. a diploma of completion of the long-cycle Master’s degree programme or second-cycle programme or an equivalent diploma obtained under separate regulations;
3. a resumé or curriculum vitae containing information about the candidate’s scientific interests and scientific activity from 1 October 2014 onwards, subject to § 18 section 7, in particular publications, research work in scientific associations, participation in scientific conferences, participation in research projects, awards, distinctions, research internships and possible recommendations from academics;
4. documents confirming the command of foreign languages and a declaration about the command of English to the extent enabling the education in the Doctoral School;
5. a description of the scientific interests in the context of the planned research (maximum 5,000 characters including spaces in English and a bibliography);
6. a declaration of the planned supervisor about their willingness to be the candidate’s supervisor if the candidate is entered on the list of doctoral students and about the number of doctoral students for whom they are the designated supervisor;
7. one photograph;
8. consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes of the selection procedure;
9. documents confirming the meeting of the requirements mentioned in point named Rules concerning candidates. 

Scans of the documents referred to in points 2-9, as well as scans of documents confirming the academic activity (e.g. at least the title page confirming the authorship of the publication) shall be placed by the candidate in the IRK system until 11 September, till 23:59.

The original documents indicated in points 1, 2, 8 and 9 shall be submitted at the Secretary’s Office of the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences until 11 September, till 14:00. 

Evaluation criteria and method

1. The evaluation of the completeness and formal compliance of the submitted documents
2. The evaluation of the research project, especially its connection to the subject of the implementation doctorate, (0-40 points)
3. Evaluation of the experience necessary to fulfil the implementation doctorate, including scientific achievements (0-20 points)
4. An interview (0-40 points):

• A discussion concerning the implementation doctorate, the understanding of the subject
• A series of short questions regarding the submitted scientific achievements and questions concerning the course of previous studies

Education

Education program

The education lasts 4 years. It includes obligatory classes (no more than 240 hours in total during the whole period of education) and the implementation of an individual research program, carried out under the supervision of a supervisor. Beginning of education - October 1, 2019.

The preparation of doctoral thesis within the programme cannot exceed four years.

Supervisor

The doctoral student works under the direction of the supervisor. The supervisor's selection declaration should be submitted at the time of submitting recruitment documents.

Scholarships

The monthly amount of the doctoral scholarship for one doctoral student is as follows:

• PLN 3450,00 – until the month in which the mid-term evaluation takes place which is mentioned in article 202 section 2 of the act
• PLN 4450,00 – after the month in which the mid-term evaluation takes place which is mentioned in article 202 section 2 of the act

The scholarship shall be financed within the „Implementation Doctorate I” programme.
